 Our ‘Why’

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Every challenge for TEAM GC aims to bring change to the world around us. Supported by our valuable partners we work with local communities on educational, health and well-being projects, TEAM GC has supported the Teenage Cancer Trust, Trinity Winchester and have been instrumental in the successful completion of a campaign with Southampton Hospital Charity and The Murray Parish Trust to build £5.2 million Children’s Emergency and Trauma centre for the South of England & Channel Islands.

We live in a world where people are very disconnected,  heads are often buried and problems are covered.  Our environment needs attention, we need to help out.  At Team GC we aim to uncover challenges, make noise, bring change and be notorious for serving mankind.

The Murray Parish Trust is a small charity set up in 2014 by actors Sarah Parish & James Murray in the memory of their late daughter Ella-Jayne who passed away in 2009 after suffering with a congenital heart defect. The charity recently completed a campaign to raise £2million towards a new Children’s Emergency Department which covers the majority of the South of England and the Channel Islands. Team GC were proud to be a part of this campaign alongside Southampton Hospital Charity and continue to support TMPT in their fundraising goals. Shadi was invited to become Ambassador for The Murray Parish Trust in 2017.

ALLEGRA’S AMBITION

The ambition of this charity is to help other young people through participation in sport and outdoor activities to develop similar positive behaviours and values to enhance their lives – and be happier people. Like Allegra.

“Allegra was a great enthusiast. She loved her friends, her family, her sport, her animals and her food! Her head was bursting with ambitions, hopes & dreams. There was never enough time in the day. She dreamed of representing her country at the Olympics. Allegra also cared deeply about injustice & inequality & we are certain she would have done good things if she had had the chance to live her life. It is a tragedy that she will not be able to fulfil those dreams.

Our hope is that Allegra’s Ambition will help some other young people to live their lives to the full.”

Youth Options was established in 1937.

“We believe passionately that every young person has the potential to realise their abilities and aspirations, and to make a valuable contribution to their communities.

We are committed to developing young people’s social and emotional skills to improve their chances in life. Our services are individually tailored to deliver vibrant, dynamic and ever-evolving opportunities that connect with and inspire young people.”

Shadi is an ambassador for the Murray Parish Trust, and has achieved an extraordinary amount for our charity, bringing us very much closer to our goal of building a much-needed new children’s Emergency Department at University Hospital Southampton, which will serve most of the South of England. Not only has she personally raised close to £30,000 from feats as varied as climbing the Matterhorn, holding motivational speaking events, and competing in a Zumbathon, but she has spread the message about what we are doing far and wide, and has inspired countless others to raise money, donate and volunteer for our cause. Her tiny but tough frame contains a heart the size of Hampshire, and enough grit to keep every road in Britain free of snow! She’s one of the kindest, most decent, tenacious and charismatic people it’s ever been my privilege to meet - a true role model.
